Environmental Hazards in your back yard- What comes with your next home purchase you may want to know?

Toxic WasteGreen Mortgage Groups mission is to bring my clients and Realtors the most information regarding all aspects of the Green Real Estate industry. The future of Real Estate will be defined by the value we as professionals can bring to our clients. Eco-friendly Real Estate is what gets me excited to be in Real Estate. As I was reading an article on an associate’s web site that I am a fan of, Sellsius Real Estate, I felt I should share some of his information with you my community.

Studying to become an Eco Broker shows me the importance of helping my clients and Real Estate partners make an informed and educated purchase. The link I found particularly interesting was the EPA Mapping which allows you to search by your zip code for what environmental hazards may be lurking. The search includes:

  • Envirofacts- Hazardous Waste Sites
  • Watershed info
  • Enviro-mapper
  • National Priorities list
  • Superfund sites(Places you definitely don’t want to live near)

It’s a good idea with the rapid growth that has taken place in the past few years in residential construction to take a look at what’s around you and most of all, what your home is next to.  In short, visit the Sellsius website, read the article, and click a few of the links to find out what eco conditions surround your Green home.
